I made this piece for a joint show with member artists at Art on Broadway Gallery. The theme for the show is "Change" so I decided to create something in a new way, to change my process. I settled on working with found objects as this gave me a totally different starting point for designing the piece. It also gave me the opportunity to take something that already exists and change it into something else. So, I rescued a rusty old push mower that was destined for the landfill and turned it into a chess piece.
